Sing a Song of Seasons

by Fiona Waters (Editor) and Frann Preston-Gannon (Illustrator)

“Sing a Song of Seasons”, edited by Fiona Waters and illustrated by Frann Preston-Gannon is one of our favorite poetry books. It is a collection of 366 nature poems, one poem for each day. There are lots of traditional favorites and lots of lesser known poems. There is also a good mix of short poems and long poems. We have been encouraged to learn about many new-to-us poets and the other poems that they have written. On many days we love to look up the ‘poem of the day’, copy it out, and draw a picture similar to the illustrations or new from our imaginations. It is a perfect book for a home or school library, to be read and referenced over and over again.
