Getting Started – The thought of homeschooling your child or children can be overwhelming. Here are some steps you can take to make it simple.

Education in BC – The educational guidelines for British Columbia, Canada, are great for planning your homeschool year. Included here is a list of BC grade topics and learning standards, as well as a list of BC schools that support home learning.

Charlotte Mason (1842-1923) encourages the use of living books, being in nature, and learning gently. Education is a discipline, an atmosphere, and a life.

Maria Montessori (1870-1952) encourages the preparation of a ‘Children’s Home’, with the right materials, environment, and gentle learning.

Susan Wise Bauer wrote “The Well-Trained Mind” and encourages a healthy discipline with good study habits.
