Nature Study

In our school, “nature study” includes anything we do outside, since we are always making observations about our environment, as well as anything we read and draw that is related to nature. It also includes the field trips we take to make observations about specific topics, like plants, insects, fish, birds, and animals.

Here is an example of a nature study activity outline:

1. Meet at a nature park.

2. Discuss the topic and review examples and photos.

3. Make a list of things to search for and observe.

4. Explore the nature park.

5. Spend some time drawing and/or taking photos.

6. Keep a tally of observed things.

7. Meet and discuss observations.

8. Finish meeting.

Sorry, nothing found.
